It's not rare for North Korea to make ambitious threats.
But their latest one might be worth taking seriously.
The North Korean government released a statement Tuesday saying they're ready to use their nuclear weapons against the United States and others if the "reckless hostile policy" against Kim Jong Un's regime continues, CNN reports.
In the statement, one of the "supreme" leader's nuclear energy officials said North Korea is growing its arsenal of nukes.
And those nukes are apparently of higher quality.
"If the US and other hostile forces persistently seek their reckless hostile policy towards the DPRK (Democratic People's Republic of Korea) and behave mischievously, the DPRK is fully ready to cope with them with nuclear weapons any time," the director of the North Korean Atomic Energy Institute said, per CNN.
