In 2015, Kim Kardashian's "Kimoji" app, which creates emoji based on the reality superstar, almost instantly became the #1 paid app on iTunes following its release.
But in 2016, the emoji game has been changed. Introducing: Kimunji, the Kim Jong-Un emoji app. Kardashian has been replaced by Kim Jong-Un, the supreme leader of North Korea.
The future app store "breaker" comes from Ben Gillin, a Houston based web designer. Gillin swapped out Kardashian's fashion, nail and hair focused stickers and instead put in icons related to the North Korean leader.
The set of 12 "Kimunji" stickers includes the Red Star from the North Korean flag, the hammer and sickle icon, a nod a North Korea's Communist history, and retired basketball great Dennis Rodman, who has visited North Korea on multiple occasions.
The 'Kim' pun continues with these two stickers. On the left is Kim Il-Sung and on the right is Kim Jong-Il, the two North Korean leaders who preceded Kim Jong-Un.
The app was released February 8 and, unlike the original Kimoji, is completely free. It's available on Product Hunt and its Kimunji Online.
